UDAIPUR

The city of Udaipur is located in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. It was once the capital of the Mewar Kingdom. Known for its opulent royal mansions, Maharana Udai Singh II founded this artificial lake-surrounded city in 1559. Renowned for its elaborate peacock mosaics, City Palace is a massive complex of 11 palaces, courtyards, and gardens that overlooks Lake Pichola.

JAIPUR

The state capital of Rajasthan in India is Jaipur. It alludes to the royal dynasty that previously controlled the area and established the Old City, often known as "Pink City" because to the colour of its distinctive buildings, in 1727. Situated at the heart of the elegant, colonnaded City Palace complex, which is a notable feature of the stately street grid in India. There are museums, parks, and courtyards within the royal residence.

JAISALMER

In the centre of the Thar Desert in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, Jaisalmer was once a princely realm and a major commerce hub during the Middle Ages. Known as the "Golden City," its architecture is set apart by the use of golden sandstone. Jaisalmer Fort, an expansive fortress perched on a hill and supported by 99 bastions, dominates the skyline. The elaborately carved Jain temples and the ornate Maharaja's Palace are situated behind its imposing walls.

JODHPUR

The city of Jodhpur is located in the Rajasthan state in northwest India's Thar Desert. Its 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort, a former palace turned museum, features intricate royal palanquins (sedan chairs) along with artefacts and paintings. The fort, perched atop a rocky outcrop, commands a view of the walled city, many of whose structures are painted the distinctive blue colour of the city.

BIKANER

East of the Pakistani border lies the city of Bikaner in the state of Rajasthan in northern India. The Thar Desert encircles it. The 16th-century Junagarh Fort, a massive complex of elaborate buildings and rooms, is the city's most famous feature. The Prachina Museum houses royal portraits and traditional textiles within the fort. Rats revered by Hindu devotees call the nearby Karni Mata Temple home.
